Mt. Vikos Kriti Olive Oil Rye Toasts
Made with Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Mt. Vikos Kriti Olive Oil Rye Toasts are made from a traditional recipe in a family run bakery in the heart of Crete. The unbleached flour is milled about six miles from the bakery and delivered daily. The olive oil is first, cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil from the region of Sitia in eastern Crete. These toasts are all natural; no preservatives are ever used.
Crete has a centuries-old tradition of baking and enjoying toasts made with barley and/or rye. Even today in modern Crete, whether in the cities or a rural village, a bowl of rusks like our Kriti Olive Oil Rye Toasts will be found on most tables.
